We believe good farming starts with thoughtful stewardship—respect for the animals, the land, and the people who who depend on them. Our practices are rooted in ethical animal care, ecological balance, and transparency, ensuring our farm thrives in harmony with nature.
Pasture-Raised with Purpose
From the moment they leave the brooder, our egg-laying chickens are raised on pasture forages with room to roam, scratch, and explore. From October 2023 through April 2025, we gave our main flock unrestricted access to the entire property during daylight hours. We took this opportunity to observe their habits closely, researching best practices used by poultry experts to better understand their patterns. Some hens preferred staying near the barn, which led to repeated use of the same ground—a situation that can compromise both soil health and flock resilience.
In response, we thoughtfully reintroduced pasture poultry netting. This wasn’t about restriction—it was about intention. With guided movement, our hens stay healthier and the land remains balanced, avoiding the buildup of manure in one area and encouraging regular pasture renewal.
Safe Shelter on the Move
As hens near laying age, they transfer from mobile shelters that sit directly on the ground into mobile ChickShaws—raised coops that still offer protection from predators, shade on hot days, and a safe place to lay eggs. This mobile housing allows us to keep the flock protected while continuing to rotate them across fresh ground.

Starting as day-old chicks, they're nourished with certified organic, soy- and corn-free feed sourced directly from Reedy Fork Organic Farm. It's a thoughtfully sourced ration that ensures strong, healthy hens and the clean, nutritious eggs we are proud to offer. Eggs you can feel good about.
No Antibiotics. No Hormones. No Vaccines.
We also prioritize flock wellness through preventative care. Our hens are never given antibiotics, growth hormones, or vaccines. Instead, when needed, we use simple, organic-approved remedies—such as apple cider vinegar, garlic, molasses, raw milk, honey, yogurt, or non-soy Vitamin E oil—to support strong immune function and recovery.
Managed for Impact
We've refined how we integrate our hens into our broader pasture system. Rather than simply trailing behind our cattle, we now rotate them strategically across the land. This focused approach helps apply manure where it's most needed, encourages diverse plant regrowth, and enhances the overall function of our farm ecosystem.
